During PTI protests across the province, including Peshawar, six people were killed and 53 protesters and 15 police officers were injured due to shelling and aerial firing.
According to the administration of the two major hospitals of Peshawar, Lady Reading and Khyber Teaching Hospital, 4 dead bodies and 52 injured were brought to the two hospitals, while 12 policemen were taken to the Police Service Hospital.
According to the spokesperson of Lady Reading Hospital, Mohammad Asim, the injured had gunshot wounds and were provided immediate medical assistance. Most of the injured have been reported stable, with bullet wounds to their legs and arms, while one person was shot in the face.
The emergency department of LRH is currently on high alert, while seven injured were brought to Khyber Teaching Hospital.
In Peshawar, violent protesters from the PTI attacked three ASPs, one DSP, four SHOs, and 11 officers on duty near Sher Shah Suri Bridge and injured them during the anti-violence protest.
According to the police spokesperson, among the injured are ASP Rural Zafar Khan, ASP City Abdul Salam Khan, ASP Security Atiq Shah, and DSP Shakil Khan.
On the other hand, in Kohat, two PTI workers were killed and one seriously injured as a result of retaliatory firing by the police in response to the violent protests during the PTI demonstration.
