Islamabad’s local court has granted bail to Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, in a violence protest case registered at the Khanna police station on May 9.
Judge Mohammad Haroon Shah of the District and Session Court heard Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s bail application and the PTI Vice Chairman appeared before the court in person.
PTI leader’s lawyer, Ali Bakhari, presented complete evidence in support of the bail request. The lawyer informed the court that Shah Mahmood Qureshi was not present at the scene of the violent protest and did not make any statements.
The lawyer argued that the court should confirm Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s bail. After hearing the arguments from the lawyer, the court confirmed Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s bail and Additional Session Judge Syed Mohammad Haroon approved the bail request.
