China has approved the deferment of a $2.1 billion loan for Pakistan for a period of two years. Pakistan will not have to pay additional interest on the loan.
According to sources, China has given its consent to defer the loan for Pakistan, and the Exim Bank of China has informed Pakistan through a letter in this regard.
Previously, the government had already accepted the terms and conditions for the loan rollover.
As per government sources, Pakistan will not have to pay any additional interest on the loan, and it will repay the loan amount to China as per the original agreement.
China has extended the terms for all 31 agreements until June 30, 2025.
