Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP),has named former Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani and former Chief Justice Tasaduq Hussain Jilani as Caretaker Prime Minister.
Yesterday, following the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the President of the nation had signed off on the summary for the dissolution of the National Assembly. This move led to the disbandment of the federal cabinet, including the Assembly. However, a final decision from the potential interim Prime Minister has yet to be reached.
The process of consultation between allied parties and the opposition continues for the prospective interim Prime Minister. Reports suggest that the PPP has put forward the names of former Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani, who also served as Ambassador to the United States, and former Chief Justice Tasaduq Hussain Jilani for the position on behalf of the incumbent Prime Minister. The Prime Minister will now decide whom to entrust with this responsibility.
