Islamabad: President of the nation, Arif Alvi, has approved the formation of the National Economic Council ,with the Prime Minister of Pakistan as its chairman.
The President approved the formation of ECC under Article 156A of the Rules of Business. The National Economic Council has a total of 13 members.
The council includes the prime minister and the chief ministers of the four provinces, while representatives of the caretaker governments from the four provinces will also be part of the council.
Caretaker Minister for Energy, Commerce, Investment and Skill Development SM Tanveer from Punjab is included in the council while Minister for Finance, Revenue, Planning and Development from Sindh Muhammad Younis Dhaga is included in the council.
The Economic Council includes Minister of Finance, Revenue, Excise, Tax Session from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ahmad Rasool Bangash, Minister of Finance and Revenue from Balochistan Amjad Rashid.
In addition to this, federal ministers for Finance, Planning, Economic Affairs, and Commerce are also members of the council. The Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, as well as the Minister for Communications, Railways, and Maritime Affairs, are also part of it. The federal Minister for Energy and Petroleum is also a part of the council.
