K Electric has abnormally increased the load shedding period of electricity in different areas of Karachi. Load shedding has been extended to 14 hours in winters as well.
According to the sources, load shedding of more than 14 hours is being done in Federal Capital area, while complaints of load shedding of more than 16 hours have been received in Liaquatabad Sea One area.
Apart from this, 12 to 14 hours load shedding is also being done in Malir, Khokhrapar, Saudabad, Landhi, Korangi, Old City Area, Allahwala Town and other areas.
Citizens say that despite the decrease in electricity demand in winter, long load shedding is beyond understanding.
The citizens have demanded that Nepra should not renew the electricity license any more.
