Addressing a forum on future technologies in Moscow, the Russian President said that the vaccine for cancer would soon be available for patients.
In a nationally televised speech, President Putin stated that new generation immunomodulatory drugs are being brought to the market very soon.
The Russian President did not specify the type of cancer that the vaccines and drugs being brought to the market would be able to treat or prevent.
It is worth remembering that several countries are involved in the race to develop effective vaccines and drugs for cancer. Last year, the British government signed an agreement with Germany’s BioNTech, under which effective drugs for treating cancer would be available to more than 10,000 patients by 2030.
Pharmaceutical companies Moderna and Merck are working rapidly on cancer vaccines. Both companies claim that they are developing drugs for the deadliest form of skin cancer, melanoma, which can reduce the effects of the disease by up to half when used.
