Telecom companies have expressed satisfaction with the blocking of mobile SIMs of more than 560,000 non-filers in the country.
Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has been assured by telecom companies that more than 560,000 non-filers’ mobile SIMs will be blocked within one to one and a half weeks.
Chairman FBR, Malik Amjad Zubair Towana, has held a meeting with representatives of telecom companies in which they assured him of their full cooperation in blocking the mobile phone SIMs of more than 560,000 non-filers. He stated that steps will be taken in the next few days to block the SIMs of non-filers.
The representatives of the telecom companies in a meeting with the Chairman FBR said that the companies fully comply with the laws of the country. Messages will be sent to non-filers to submit income tax returns, after which mobile SIMs will be restored after clearance from FBR of non-filers who have submitted tax returns.
