Just before the budget, another blow to citizens as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased electricity rates across the country to Rs 3.33 per unit for consumers.
According to NEPRA sources, the increase in electricity prices is due to monthly fuel adjustment. The increase in electricity rates will apply to bills for the current month, and consumers will be charged an additional Rs 3.33 per unit in their bills for one month.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the increase in electricity rates will not apply to electric and lifeline consumers. NEPRA has also issued a notification regarding the increase in electricity rates.
