Karachi: An explosion occurred in the canteen of the Sindh High Court’s new bar room, shattering the glass windows of both the canteen and the bar room.
Security sources reported that the blast also damaged the walls of the Sindh High Court bar room, and it appears that the explosion was caused by a gas leak in the canteen.
After the explosion, the Sindh High Court’s security team called the Bomb Disposal Squad, which arrived at the scene to determine the nature of the explosion.
DIG South, Asad Raza, stated that the explosion took place at around 6:15 AM. He mentioned that there had been a gas leak in the canteen since last night.
According to DIG Asad Raza, the explosion occurred when the staff switched on the electricity in the morning. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
He further added that the exact nature of the explosion will be clarified once the Bomb Disposal Squad’s report is complete.
