The head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, stated that Saudi Arabia has the right to lead the Islamic world, and we want Saudi Arabia to guide the Muslim Ummah.
While addressing the National Assembly, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that we believe Pakistan and Saudi Arabia should jointly address the issues faced by Muslims. He welcomed the Saudi Ambassador and the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, noting that there are some traditions and that distinguished guests are present in this Parliament. During Benazir Bhutto’s tenure, Yasser Arafat had also visited and addressed here.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that, while maintaining traditions, internal matters should not be exposed. The presence of the distinguished guest today will further enhance the relations between the two countries. He mentioned that he would not discuss internal and political matters, and apologized to the guest for the atmosphere created in the assembly.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman further stated that there are some traditions to be maintained and internal politics should not be discussed. He emphasized that discussions should focus on the relationship and mutual coexistence between the two countries and that Saudi Arabia is considered the first friend in the international community.
