A farmer’s family in the Amreli district of Gujarat, India, has become the center of attention due to their unusual act.
In neighboring India, something surprising happens regularly that captures the world’s attention. Another unique yet fascinating incident occurred in Gujarat, where the last rites of a 12-year-old car were performed, with over 1500 people attending.
According to Indian media, a video of the last rites of the 12-year-old car from Amreli district is going viral on social media, where the car is seen decorated like a bride, then its last rites are performed, and it is later buried in the ground.
The report states that the car belongs to Sanjay Palora, who runs a construction business in Surat. He decorated his car with flowers like a bride, then brought it to his agricultural land, where after the last rites, it was buried in a 15-foot deep pit (grave).
During the last rites, the car was wrapped in green cloth, followed by traditional prayers. Flowers were also showered on it, and priests recited hymns, while people performed Garba around the car.
More than 1500 people, including Sanjay’s family and friends, participated in this ceremony.
Sanjay Palora told local media that the car had been very lucky for them. When they purchased it 12 years ago, their family experienced prosperity, and the business grew rapidly, which also improved their social status.
He stated that instead of selling the car, they decided to honor it with full respect, as it had changed their fate.
