Security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in the Miran Shah district of North Waziristan on information about the presence of insurgents, killing 8 insurgents.
According to the Pakistan Army’s Public Relations Department (ISPR), six insurgents were also injured during the operation, and a clearance operation is ongoing in the area to eliminate potential insurgent terrorists.
In Balochistan’s Kech district, in the Balgetar area, security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation. Among the dead terrorists was a highly wanted leader, Sana, also known as Baro.
The ISPR statement indicated that during the exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in the Kech district, four terrorists were killed, including the highly wanted leader Sana, alias Baro. Commander Sana, alias Baro, was involved in recruiting suicide bombers in the Makran division. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists.
After the operation, a clearance operation is ongoing to eliminate terrorists in the area.
The ISPR stated that security forces are determined to eradicate terrorism in Balochistan.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces for the successful intelligence-based operation against terrorists in the Kech district.
In his statement, he said that terrorists would not be allowed to disrupt Balochistan’s development, prosperity, and law and order. The entire nation appreciates the security forces’ efforts to maintain peace and stability in Balochistan.
The President reiterated the commitment to continue actions until the menace of terrorism is eradicated.
