An attempt was made to attack Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar in London, with videos of the incident circulating on social media.
According to Indian media reports, a group of Khalistani protesters attempted to attack Jaishankar. The demonstrators were protesting outside Chatham House in London, where the Indian minister was present.
As per the reports, one of the protesters ran toward Jaishankar’s vehicle and tore an Indian flag in front of police officers before being taken into custody. The demonstrators were also chanting slogans in support of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, which was seen as a surprising turn.
A viral online video shows a person aggressively running towards the Indian Foreign Minister’s convoy. Protesters were also seen tearing Indian flags while others raised slogans. Later, the police arrested the demonstrators.
The incident occurred while Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar was on an official visit to the UK from March 4 to March 9.
