Onija Andrew Robinson, the 33-year-old American woman who went viral for traveling to Pakistan allegedly for love, has sent a heartfelt message to Sindh Police officer Shabana Jelani upon her return to the U.S., calling her an exemplary officer.
Robinson arrived in Pakistan at the end of 2024, reportedly due to her affection for a Pakistani boy and stayed for a few months before departing back to the U.S. at the end of February.
Videos of Robinson’s recent arrival in the U.S. went viral, showing her dancing in the streets of New York.
In a new interview with BBC’s Asian Network, she praised Shabana Jelani, extending warm wishes and expressing admiration for the female police officer of Sindh Police.
The American woman stated that Shabana was an excellent officer who took care of her during her stay.
She added that, as a woman, Shabana treated her with great hospitality, and in a way, they shared a bond during the time spent together.
According to Robinson, although she referred to Shabana as her “team,” there were also other officers assigned to assist her.
She admitted that Shabana Jelani is very fond of New York and said she would love to meet her if she ever visits.
Once again, Robinson sent a message of affection to Shabana, just like in their viral videos from Pakistan.
She also repeated the famous dialogue, saying she loves Shabana.
It is worth mentioning that Onija Andrew Robinson arrived in Pakistan on October 11, 2024, allegedly for 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon, a resident of Garden East, Karachi, after building an online connection. However, the boy and his family later refused to meet her.
