Chairman FBR stated that relief for the salaried class is being considered in the new budget.
Rashid Mehmood Langrial, in a briefing to the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance, said that due to the IMF program, the next budget will be difficult. It will also not be easy to provide tax relief to any sector.
Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, in a briefing via video link, said that the Ministry of Finance is preparing the new 2025-26 budget along with a long-term tax policy. The FBR’s full focus will be on tax collection.
The Finance Committee took notice of the non-payment of the minimum monthly wage of Rs. 37,000 to employees and laborers in government institutions and has demanded lists from the Ministry of Finance.
