President Asif Ali Zardari has stated that the IMF program is proving helpful in addressing the economic challenges faced by Pakistan and in achieving financial stability. He added that the program will promote economic development in the country.
President Zardari made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation of the International Monetary Fund led by Jihad Azour. Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and other senior officials were also present.
During the meeting held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, discussions were held on Pakistan’s economic situation and the ongoing IMF program.
The President emphasized that the IMF program is contributing to Pakistan’s economic stability and will help foster development. He acknowledged the IMF’s role in supporting the economic progress of developing countries and appreciated its contribution to Pakistan’s development.
The IMF delegation expressed full satisfaction with Pakistan’s ongoing economic reforms and said the program is progressing in the right direction. It added that the program has helped address issues like inflation, foreign exchange reserves, and the fiscal deficit.
