Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has stated that steps are being taken to introduce an air ambulance service across the country’s motorways and national highways. The aim of this service is to ensure that victims of road accidents can be transported to hospitals in the shortest possible time.
He made these remarks during his visit to the Expo Center in Tatarstan after the Kazan Forum. The minister praised Kazan’s development model as highly impressive and said that Pakistan can learn from it across various sectors.
He appreciated the performance of the air ambulance service in Kazan, noting that such initiatives can assist in establishing similar services in Pakistan, thereby promoting the exchange of experience between the two countries. Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized that the rate of fatalities in road accidents is alarming and it is the government’s responsibility to ensure immediate medical aid for the injured.
He further mentioned that efforts are ongoing to improve Pakistan’s transport infrastructure and to increase public awareness regarding e-tagging and other automated facilities. Declaring the Kazan Forum beneficial for Pakistan, the federal minister said that such platforms can open new avenues for growth in the communications sector through cooperation among participating countries.
He also stressed the importance of enhancing land connectivity between Pakistan and Central Asian countries and noted that the Kazan Forum included positive discussions in this regard. During the visit to the Expo Center, Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and the Pakistani delegation received a detailed briefing on the operational framework and supporting infrastructure of the air ambulance service.
