According to astronomers, tomorrow, May 28, the sun will pass directly over the Kaaba, enabling Muslims around the world to accurately determine the Qibla direction.
As per the report, at 2:18 PM Pakistan Standard Time, the sun will be positioned exactly above the Kaaba. At that specific moment, the sun’s rays will be vertical, and the Kaaba will cast no shadow on the ground. Meanwhile, the shadows of objects around the world will appear in the direction opposite to the Kaaba.
By using this moment, people can place any straight object, such as a stick or rod, vertically on the ground and mark the direction of its shadow to find the accurate Qibla direction. This is a natural and simple method to verify the correct direction of Qibla, which is utilized on specific days each year.
Experts noted that if someone is unable to benefit from this opportunity, the next chance will be on July 16, when the sun will once again pass directly over the Kaaba, allowing the same method to determine Qibla direction effectively.
This opportunity is especially helpful for individuals living in areas where determining the Qibla direction is difficult or where access to modern technology is limited.
