Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), Raghib Hussain Naeemi, has stated that awarding the rank of Field Marshal to General Syed Asim Munir is a recognition of his outstanding services.
In his statement, he remarked that the “Battle of Truth” was a highly significant event in which the Pakistan Army responded to enemy aggression with strategic precision and effectiveness, forcing the enemy to surrender within hours.
Raghib Hussain Naeemi further said that when the enemy failed to withstand the pressure of the counterattack, it sought assistance from the United States for a ceasefire. The U.S. President played an active role in facilitating the ceasefire.
He also mentioned the “Roshan Mustaqbil” and “Sahara Card” schemes launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, through which orphaned children and widows will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 5,000.
He added that the U.S. President contacted Pakistan regarding the ceasefire, after which the short war came to an end, with the Pakistan Air Force demonstrating clear superiority in the conflict.
Raghib Naeemi said that under the leadership of Ishaq Dar, Pakistan achieved several diplomatic successes, while DG ISPR and Atta Tarar effectively managed national and international media coverage.
He emphasized that the victory in the conflict not only boosted the morale of Pakistan’s armed forces but also uplifted the entire nation, and awarding General Syed Asim Munir the rank of Field Marshal is a practical acknowledgment of his remarkable contributions.
