The meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held this evening in Quetta to decide and announce the sighting of the Muharram 1447 AH moon.
According to the official announcement, the meeting will be chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Quetta, while zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meetings will take place at their respective headquarters.
It is noteworthy that the national space agency, SUPARCO, has issued a forecast regarding the Muharram moon, stating that the moon is expected to be born on June 25, 2025, at 3:32 PM. By sunset on June 26, the moon’s age will be approximately 28 hours and 15 minutes.
According to astronomical experts, there will be a 75-minute gap between sunset and moonset in the country’s coastal regions, which is considered highly favorable for moon sighting.
Based on astronomical analysis, if the sky remains clear on the evening of June 26, there are strong chances of moon sighting. Therefore, it is expected that the first of Muharram 1447 AH will fall on Friday, June 27, 2025.
