The Balochistan government has imposed a complete ban on operating public transport in the province from 5 PM to 5 AM, warning that strict action will be taken against transport owners and companies found violating the restriction. Relevant authorities have been instructed to ensure full compliance with the decision.
According to reports, train services from the provincial capital, Quetta, to other parts of the country remain suspended for the fourth consecutive day due to security concerns. Railway officials stated that services will remain suspended until August 14.
Similarly, the government has also prohibited public transport from operating on national highways during the same hours. No public transport vehicles will be allowed to run on any provincial roads between 5 PM and 5 AM, and companies violating this rule will have their route permits cancelled.
Provincial Transport Secretary Muhammad Hayat Kakar, in a transport-related meeting, stressed that the night travel ban will be enforced strictly. All deputy commissioners in the province have been instructed to take immediate measures to prevent public transport from operating during nighttime hours.
