A man named Hassan Zahid has been taken into custody by Islamabad Police on suspicion of intimidating TikToker Samia Hijab and threatening to kill and kidnap her. A police spokesperson stated that the action was taken following Samia’s submission of a formal complaint and video statement.
Police confirmed that a case involving charges of attempted abduction, harassment, coercion, and assault with intent to dishonor women has been filed at Shalimar Police Station.
Samia Hijab claimed that the suspect had been pursuing her for several days and had made several attempts to coerce her by presenting her with presents. She claimed in a social media video statement that after she turned down his marriage proposal, the man started to harass her, even going as far as to go to her house. She also claimed that Zahid had pressured her to drop the FIR before his arrest and had made a clear threat to kill her if she persisted in rejecting his proposal.
Samia said in a previous video that the suspect rang her doorbell and attempted to take her by force after the door opened. He grabbed her phone and sat in his car during the incident. The suspect harassed her more and tried to kidnap her when she rushed to get her phone.
According to the police, a thorough investigation is being carried out, and strong evidence against the accused is being gathered.
