Actress Saima Qureshi has once again reiterated her stance on second marriages, stating that men should prefer marriage over extramarital relationships. According to her, nearly 95% of men wish to have a second marriage.
In a recent appearance on the FHM podcast, Qureshi argued that if men are inclined toward having affairs, they should take responsibility through marriage. She stressed that one man’s wrong action can negatively impact an entire generation.
She added that if a man plays with someone’s emotions or shows false dreams, he should remember that his own children are growing up, and therefore, marriage is a far better option than engaging in unlawful or illegitimate relationships.
Qureshi further said that men do not fear while engaging in extramarital affairs, so they should not hesitate to marry and take their wives into confidence instead. She shared that she has personally seen several men living happily with both their wives.
According to the actress, Islamic teachings do not make it mandatory to seek the first wife’s permission for a second marriage, though informing her is necessary. She also pointed out that many women even arrange their husbands’ second marriages themselves, with such examples also visible in the media.
It is worth mentioning that in February 2025, Qureshi had made similar remarks on the same YouTube podcast, saying that men do not need their first wife’s approval for a second marriage and that it is better to marry than to engage in extramarital relations.
