Federal Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi shared a slow-motion video of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo on the social media platform X, in which Ronaldo gestures with his hand to mimic an aircraft crashing. The gesture closely resembled the one Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf made during the Asia Cup in response to taunts from Indian fans.
Ronaldo’s video went viral in the context of the Rafale jet crash, with Pakistani social media users enthusiastically enjoying it, while Indian media and fans have labeled it as “trolling.”
It is worth noting that Haris Rauf’s gesture had earlier sparked outrage in India, leading the BCCI to lodge a formal complaint with the ICC. Now, Ronaldo’s gesture is being referred to as a “Rafale reminder,” with users making witty remarks online.
This incident highlights that the Pakistan-India rivalry continues beyond the playing field, with the name of Cristiano Ronaldo now added to the mix.
