Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has said that the Sindh government will approach the Sindh High Court against the local body elections announced by the Sindh Election Commission.
While addressing a ceremony to lay the foundation stone of the “Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Cardiac Diseases” in Landhi area of Karachi, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that whenever we faced terrorists in Hyderabad and Karachi, we fought them, whether they were inside or outside the country, and we knew that our struggle was not just a democratic one.
He said that we always remained democratic, but we fought terrorism, we won local body elections in Karachi through generations of hard work and sacrifices.
He said that the local body elections have already taken place, but there are no representatives, if the elections had been held on time, the elected representatives would have been present to help in the current flood situation.
The PPP chairman said that the second phase of the local body elections has also taken place, but the entire Sindh has been deprived of representatives.
He said that the PPP was criticized for not holding local body elections, now they should answer who is stopping them and who is afraid that if there is a mayor in Karachi and Hyderabad, something will happen.
