Islamabad: At the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will arrive in Pakistan today on an official visit, during which a series of high-level meetings have been scheduled.
During the visit, the distinguished guest is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and other senior officials, with discussions expected on various aspects of bilateral relations and cooperation.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the UAE president’s visit will help enhance cooperation in multiple sectors, including bilateral trade, investment, energy, and development, while also strengthening ties between the two countries.
In view of the visit, a public holiday has been declared in the federal capital, Islamabad. The Pakistan Secretariat and all federal institutions located within Islamabad will remain closed today.
The Senate Secretariat and National Assembly Secretariat will also remain closed, while the Islamabad High Court has announced a holiday as well. According to a notification issued by the Registrar of the Islamabad High Court, the Islamabad High Court and Islamabad District Courts will remain closed on December 26.
The Registrar of the Federal Constitutional Court has also issued a notification declaring a public holiday and canceling today’s cause list.
According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, hospitals, banks, offices of essential services, the Metropolitan Corporation, CDA offices, the Islamabad administration, police, IESCO, and Sui Northern Gas offices in Islamabad will remain open today.
