A female student of a private university located on Raiwind Road in Lahore’s Nawab Town reportedly jumped from the building, leaving her critically injured and raising serious concerns within the area.
According to police, the 21-year-old student jumped from the second floor of the university building and sustained severe injuries. She was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where she is currently receiving medical treatment.
Police said that Nawab Town police reached the scene soon after the incident and initiated legal proceedings, while investigations are underway to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
Police officials further revealed that only a few days earlier, a male student from the same university had jumped from the fourth floor, resulting in his death, which has intensified concerns regarding student safety and mental well-being at the institution.
According to police, the injured student is enrolled in the D-Pharm program and belongs to Narang Mandi in the Sheikhupura district. Following the incident, the university administration temporarily closed the institution after the student jumped from the roof.
