The Speaker’s Office has completed the process of scrutinizing the nomination papers for the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.
After the scrutiny is complete, the National Assembly Secretariat has prepared a summary and sent it to the Speaker’s Office. The Speaker of the National Assembly had examined the candidate’s papers yesterday, while Mahmood Khan Achakzai is the only candidate for the post of Opposition Leader.
Meanwhile, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah says that the notification of Mahmood Khan Achakzai as the Leader of the Opposition will be issued on Friday (today).
Meanwhile, PTI Chief Whip in the National Assembly, Malik Amir Dogar, has said that Mahmood Khan Achakzai’s notification is a positive development; however, consultation with the founder of PTI is necessary to return to the standing committees and determine the future strategy.
