The Peshawar High Court has ordered the release of funds for the affected people of Tirah during the hearing of a petition related to a possible operation in Tirah Valley, aiming to provide relief to the affected population.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Waqar Ahmed and Justice Muhammad Faheem Wali heard the petition. During the proceedings, the petitioner’s counsel questioned whether the government had obtained approval from the assembly for any such operation.
In response, the additional attorney general informed the court that neither the federal government nor the provincial government had granted permission for any operation in Tirah.
The court directed the authorities to submit a detailed report on the provision of relief to the affected people within seven days and ordered that funds be released immediately for the Tirah victims to ease the hardships faced by residents.
The Peshawar High Court also summoned advisers for Tirah Valley and the secretary of the Relief Department to appear at the next hearing, so that the court can be fully briefed on relief measures and government actions.
