MQM-P’s contact committee has made a major decision in its meeting, as its seven members in the National Assembly have resigned. Federal ministers, including members of the contact committee, were present in the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, where severe reservations were expressed over the provisional results of the census.
In the meeting, MQM-Pakistan refused to accept the census results and considered all possible options for protest. The matter of ending the alliance with the government was also discussed.
According to sources, the contact committee members recommended a strong protest to the federal government and decided to consult with parliamentarians on the matter. The committee was informed that MQM-P was not satisfied with the meetings and results of the census with the Prime Minister and federal ministers.
MQM-P has claimed that 25 lakh households were not counted in the current census. Federal ministers and contact committee members were present in the meeting.
