The Meteorological Department has forecasted the possibility of a strong and prolonged rain system affecting the country from Thursday or Friday.
Light to heavy rains have been predicted from Karachi to Kashmir during April 28th to May 5th.
It has been stated that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and hailstorms in 90% of the districts in Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with concerns about urban flooding as well.
The Meteorological Department has also forecasted rains in coastal areas of Balochistan, including Gwadar, Pasni, and Ormara, with a fear of possible flooding in the sea. Fishermen have been advised to avoid deep-sea fishing.
According to the Meteorological Department, a rain-producing system has started entering the Arabian Sea, and there is a possibility of rain in Karachi from Friday along with thunder and lightning. Sea breeze is expected to remain closed for 72 hours.
The series of rainfall may continue until May 5th, according to the Meteorological Department.
