Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has stated that if the government provides evidence that members of our party are involved in attacks, we will apprehend them ourselves.
Speaking at a press conference in Zaman Park after negotiations with the government team, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that we told the government team to come inside and see for themselves. The team said they would search your entire house, to which we replied that we cannot allow that.
Imran Khan said that Lahore High Court had suggested that one male and one female officer should be appointed by the government, but we do not have confidence in them. If we want to search according to the Lahore High Court’s recommendation, then it is fine.
The PTI Chairman said, “In my 27-year political career, I have never given permission for anyone to be harassed. Our entire leadership has condemned it. If they provide evidence that members of our party are involved, we will apprehend them ourselves. However, they are trying to corner PTI by making such accusations. How can they claim that the entire leadership was involved?”
Imran Khan revealed that the government team provided me with eight names, stating that they are wanted and should be handed over to us. I asked him about the actions taken with those individuals. Mahmood Rashid stated that unknown individuals had subjected him to violence. Most people claim that they were subjected to violence. Women were never humiliated in such a manner as they did. The government should present evidence that these individuals were involved in attacks. Please tell us what Shahriar Afridi’s wife did.
PTI Chairman said that efforts to undermine the party are underway. There are 150 cases against me. I give my opinion to whoever is making these decisions that no political party ever ends in this way. Those who are perpetrating this don’t understand that ideology resides in people’s hearts. You can’t crush this ideology by using force.
Imran Khan said that such incidents never happened even during the jungle law. There is fear that Imran Riaz might not be alive. If you don’t take a stand against journalists today, tomorrow it will be someone else’s turn. On the day Matiullah Jan was abducted, I called him the next day and asked him to let him go.
Chairman of the Tehreek-e-Insaf said that those who left the party were put under pressure, and this is increasing people’s resentment. The vote bank is also growing. This is a spring that rises as much as it is suppressed. Our workers are in hiding, and those workers who are in jails are not even given food.
Imran Khan said that I did not delay in condemning the events of May 9. I condemned the incidents first in the Supreme Court, and I told the Chief Justice that I strongly condemn them.
