Russia’s oil imports to Pakistan are expected to lead to a series of price reductions in petroleum products, with speculations suggesting a significant decrease of up to 100 Pakistani rupees in the price of petrol.
In light of these speculations, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, during an interview with Voice of America, responded to a question by stating that while a decrease of up to 100 rupees in petrol prices is unlikely, there will certainly be a reduction in the price of petrol.
He further explained that currently, Pakistan is receiving a small quantity of Russian oil, and it will be beneficial in reducing petrol prices when larger quantities arrive from Russia in the coming months or years.
When asked whether a decrease of 100 rupees in petrol prices will occur after the arrival of oil from Russia, he refuted the claim.
