Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has issued an explanatory statement and said that the protection of mothers and sisters is my responsibility, Khadija Shah is still in police custody.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, he expressed his views on the news of ill-treatment of women in jail. He stated that on May 9th, 32 women were arrested, out of which 11 are still in jail.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that whoever is involved in the incident at Jinnah House on May 9th, regardless of their influence, will not be spared.
Addressing the news of Khadija Shah’s release, the concerned Chief Minister of Punjab said that Khadija Shah is under police protection, and she is still in jail. Her identification parade is underway.
It should be noted that Khadija Shah’s video message surfaced yesterday, in which she expressed regret for her actions on May 9th and sought forgiveness for her mistakes. After this, rumors started circulating on social media that Khadija Shah has been released.
