Supreme Court Review of Judgments and Orders Act 2023 Gazette Notification Issued. Under the new law, under 184/3, the decisions will be reviewed and appealed.
The President of the country had approved the new law, the Supreme Court Review of Judgments and Orders Act 2023, on Friday, and its gazette notification has been issued.
According to the new law, appeals for reconsideration will be allowed under section 184/3, and the appeals will be heard by a larger bench than the one that originally delivered the judgment.
It should be noted that previously, a bill for appeals against Supreme Court judgments was passed in the National Assembly. As per the bill, requests for reconsideration can be filed within two months of the Supreme Court’s decision.
Furthermore, requests for reconsideration of old judgments can be filed within 30 days.
