Karachi: The coastal town of Bipar, originating from the Arabian Sea, has changed its course as the intensifying tropical cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ continues to gather strength.
According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclone has shifted its direction towards the north and northeast from the Arabian Sea and is currently located 1160 kilometers away from southern Karachi.
The Meteorological Department states that this track will also affect coastal areas of Pakistan, including India. In the next two days, the cyclone is expected to remain on a track towards the north and northeast.
The Meteorological Department further informs that the winds around the Arabian Sea cyclone are moving at a speed of 130 to 160 kilometers per hour. As the cyclone intensifies, the wind speed is expected to increase per hour.
The Meteorological Department assures that the Arabian Sea cyclone poses no threat to Pakistan’s coastal belt, but the Cyclone Warning Center is closely monitoring the situation and continuously monitoring the tropical cyclone.
