Islamabad: Islamabad: Muslim League (N) has decided to remove former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail and Muslim League (N) Sindh President Muhammad Shah from the party post.
According to sources, the party leadership has made the decision to remove Muhammad Shah, the President of PML-N Sindh, from his position, as well as to dismiss Miftah Ismail, the former Finance Minister and Secretary of Sindh, from his responsibilities.
It is said that notifications regarding the removal of both officials will be issued soon by the party.
Miftah Ismail’s displeasure with the party came to the fore in the current government when the government decided to remove Miftah Ismail from the post of Finance Minister and give the ministry to Ishaq Dar.
Miftah Ismail has previously served as Finance Minister twice on behalf of the PML-N, first during Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s cabinet and later in Shehbaz Sharif’s cabinet during the PML-N government.
Miftah Ismail has criticized Ishaq Dar’s economic policies many times while he has also attacked the finance minister several times over the deal with the IMF.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has also responded many times to the criticism made by Miftah Ismail.
