The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has sent Shahriyar Afridi, a leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
A hearing regarding the case registered at the Aien Nain police station on May 9 against Shahriyar Afridi took place in the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad. Upon the completion of his physical remand, Shahriyar Afridi was presented in the court of Judicial Magistrate Naveed Khan.
The court rejected the request for further physical remand of Shahriyar Afridi and sent him to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand. The police had requested for an additional three days of physical remand for Shahriyar Afridi.
On June 17, the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad had handed over Shahriyar Afridi to the police on a two-day physical remand.
