Torrential rains have resulted in flash floods, with videos showing cars being violently swept away and roads being cut off.
The Civil Defense Directorate in Madinah issued a warning advising caution, urging people to avoid valleys and flood streams and not to attempt crossing or descending into them.
Earlier, the Saudi National Center of Meteorology (NCM) had raised the alert level to red in the Madinah region, anticipating heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms.
