The per unit price of electricity is likely to be marginally reduced for a month, the Central Power Purchasing Agency’s request will be heard in Nepra today.
A request for a reduction of 31 paise per unit in the monthly fuel price adjustment towards CPPA was filed with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority.
The CPPA stated in the petition that in July power generation from hydel was around 37%, power generation from local coal was more than 10%, and power generation from imported coal was 7.64%.
Electricity generation from furnace oil in July has been a meager 0.69%, 7.93% from natural gas, and around 20% from imported RLNG.
In July, power generation from nuclear stood at 13.36 percent and from wind at 3 percent, the government is likely to reduce the unit price of electricity marginally for the month.
