The Practice and Procedure Committee added Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan to the bench, after which the bench to hear revision petitions under Article 63A was completed.
According to the sources, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa suggested the name of Justice Mansoor Ali Shah for the bench in the meeting, however, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan was included in the bench after Justice Mansoor Ali Shah did not attend the committee meeting.
It should be noted that earlier, Justice Mansoor expressed reservations about the amendment ordinance and said that even after it came, the senior judges should have participated in the committee meeting. At the same time, Justice Muneeb was removed from the committee without giving any reason.
Apart from this, Senior Judge Justice Muneeb Akhtar excused himself from joining the bench of the 63A interpretation case yesterday, which he informed the Registrar Supreme Court through a letter.
