Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actor and politician Mithun Chakraborty’s first wife, Helena Luke, passed away at the age of 68 in the United States.
According to Indian media reports, Helena Luke passed away on November 3 in the U.S.
Reports indicate that Helena Luke had been ill for a long time.
The news of Helena Luke’s death was confirmed by renowned dancer and actor Kalpana Iyer via social media.
Mithun and Helena were married in 1979, but the relationship ended just four months later, and they divorced. Mithun later married actress Yogita Bali.
Helena gained popularity for her role as the British queen in Amitabh Bachchan’s film Mard. She also acted in films like Do Gulaab, Aao Pyar Karein, and Bhai Aakhir Bhai Hota Hai.
In an old interview, Helena expressed regret over her marriage to Mithun, stating that he had convinced her that he was the best for her, and it was her misfortune that she believed it.
