A foreign news agency, citing a U.S. official, reported that President Joe Biden’s administration has sent a proposal to Congress for the sale of $8 billion worth of weapons to Israel.
The arms deal with Israel will be finalized after approval from Congress and Senate committees.
According to the report, the proposed weapons for sale to Israel include small bombs, arms for fighter jets, combat helicopters, ammunition, and warheads.
The U.S. State Department has not commented on the proposed arms sale agreement with Israel.
Previously, thousands of protesters had demanded a ban on U.S. arms sales to Israel in response to the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza. However, there has been no change in U.S. policy regarding Israel.
