Islamabad: Muslim League (N) leader Talal Chaudhry has stated that the PECA law is aimed at those who are not journalists but spread sensationalism for ratings while posing as journalists.
Speaking on Geo Pakistan’s news program, Talal Chaudhry said that whenever a foreign guest visits, PTI feels compelled to protest.
Talal Chaudhry clarified that the PECA Act has no connection with journalists or journalism. He urged journalists and others not to associate themselves with the PECA law, as it targets those who are not journalists but creates sensationalism for ratings. He emphasized the need to regulate social media.
He further added that no law in the world is ideal when first enacted; amendments are made over time. The government has no intention of misusing the PECA law.
