Saudi astronomers have predicted the sighting of the Shawwal moon in Saudi Arabia.
According to Arab media reports, experts in astronomy believe that the Shawwal moon is likely to be sighted on the 29th of Ramadan.
Saudi astronomers stated that the moon will be born at 2 PM on Saturday, the 29th of Ramadan, and after sunset, it will be visible for around 8 minutes.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has stated that the chances of moon sighting in Saudi Arabia on March 29 are extremely low. At sunset in Makkah, the moon’s age will be approximately 5 hours.
The announcement further noted that the crescent moon will likely be visible across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East on March 30. Consequently, Eid-ul-Fitr in Saudi Arabia is expected to be observed on March 31, 2025.
It is also likely that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Pakistan on Monday, March 31.
