The notification of the appointment of Lieutenant General (retd) Nazir Ahmed as the Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has been issued.
The notification of the appointment of the new Chairman NAB Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Nazir Ahmed was issued by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Law and Justice Umar Aziz.
According to the notification, Lieutenant General (retd) Nazir Ahmed will perform the duties of Chairman NAB for 3 years, the 3-year period will start from the day Nazir Ahmed assumes charge.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved the appointment of Lt. Gen. (retd) Nazir Ahmed as Chairman NAB after consulting with Opposition Leader Raja Riaz in the National Assembly.
The post of Chairman NAB was vacant due to the resignation of former Chairman NAB Aftab Sultan.
