Significant progress has been made in the project to install e-gates at Pakistan’s three major airports. According to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), German experts finalized the basic design of the e-gates during their recent visit to Pakistan.
The PAA spokesperson stated that under this project, modern e-gates will be installed at Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore airports. These automated gates will facilitate faster immigration processes for passengers through a self-service system.
“This system will not only save passengers’ valuable time but also make the immigration process at airports more efficient and transparent,” the spokesperson added.
During a three-day workshop held in connection with the project, the German experts held consultations with all relevant stakeholders. According to the PAA, this initiative represents a major effort to align Pakistan’s airports with international standards.
The spokesperson further explained that the project will deliver a secure, scalable, and technologically advanced solution for airport operations. The Pakistan Airports Authority confirmed that consultants working on the project are performing satisfactorily under contract, and the progress so far is encouraging.
According to the authority, the implementation of e-gates across the country will mark the beginning of a new era for passengers, significantly enhancing the air travel experience.
