Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that women in Pakistan are not confined to symbolic roles but are influential policy makers and an effective diplomatic force in both national and international arenas.
She made these remarks while paying tribute to female diplomats on the occasion of International Day of Women in Diplomacy. She said that courageous women who have played historic diplomatic roles are a valuable asset to the nation. According to her, when women lead in diplomacy, the process goes beyond politics and becomes a symbol of peace and humanity.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also announced the complete opening of CBD Route 47 for public traffic. She stated that this project represents another strong step toward Punjab’s bright and sustainable future. She emphasized that this road is not just a route but a symbol of smart development and modern infrastructure in the province.
Drawing attention to the plight of women affected by conflict, Maryam Nawaz called on the global community to support widowed women in war-torn regions like Kashmir, Gaza, and now Iran. She added that special priority is being given to the children of these women in the “Honahar Scholarship Program” so that they do not fall behind in education.
