The death toll from rain-related incidents over the past three days has reached 50 across various parts of the country, while the Meteorological Department has forecast more torrential rainfall.
According to the department, heavy rains are expected from today until July 5 in Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, posing a threat of urban flooding in these regions.
Additionally, the department has issued storm warnings for Azad Kashmir, Islamabad, and the Pothohar region. Low-lying areas in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum are at risk of flooding.
Peshawar, Charsadda, and Nowshera are also expected to receive heavy rain. Similarly, flash floods and landslides are likely in upper areas, including Hazara, Malakand, and surrounding regions.
The Prime Minister has directed relevant authorities to take precautionary safety measures. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in a video message, warned citizens of potential flooding in the coming days and urged them to take protective actions.
